PEACE – A Game Challenging the Status Quo

The African Disability Forum (ADF) participated in a three-day Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) training held on March 9 -11 in Hyderabad, India, organized by JICA, HERALBONY, and WE Hub.

Unlike traditional lecture-based trainings, the program used an interactive game called PEACE, inspired by Tsudoi no Syūkan (The Habit of Gathering) by Teppei Kasahara, to explore the concept of equity. The sessions targeted CEOs, HR professionals, and women entrepreneurs and encouraged creativity, empathy, and reflection through engaging activities.

ADF was represented by Mrs. Bethelehem Zewde, who also had the opportunity to present an overview on Disability status in Africa, Ethiopia and ADF, visit NGOs, and network with startups in India.

ADF sincerely thanks JICA for this opportunity and congratulates HERALBONY and WE Hub for their inspiring work. We look forward to seeing similar initiatives introduced in Africa to help transform narratives around disability and persons with disabilities.
